RALEIGH, NC – February 9, 2012 – The Preiss Company is proud to announce that Donna Preiss, company founder and Chief Executive Officer, has been recognized by Enterprising Women magazine as one of the publication’s 2012 Enterprising Women of the Year. Women business owners throughout the nation were recognized and will be formally honored at a gala dinner held in their honor during the 10th Annual Enterprising Women of the Year Awards Celebration, March 12-13, 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Preiss founded The Preiss Company in 1987. The company currently employs over 260 team members and owns and/or operates properties in eight states and eleven markets. The Preiss Company operates 15,000 beds and has experienced 30% growth in the past two years and almost $130 million in acquisition and development in the past twelve months.

Over the years, The Preiss Company has been the recipient of several industry and national awards and its properties have had the distinction of being repeatedly voted as “Best Places to Live Off-Campus” by their respective campus newspapers, as well as showcased by the National Multi Housing Council for their capital improvements. Preiss personally has been recognized by Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle’s most successful professional women and was awarded their Women in Business Award. She has also been honored by Business Leader magazine and Triangle Real Estate magazine as an Impact Triangle Real Estate Broker.

Preiss currently serves on the Board of Directors of the SPCA, the National Multi Housing Council, the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, and the Wake Tech Foundation. Donna also serves on the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Advisory Board, the NAA National Student Housing Committee, the NMHC National Student Housing Committee, and the Women President’s Organization.
