New Jersey (January 2011) -- Type-1 diabetic William Sisca, who was diagnosed with diabetes at the age of 13, has started the F.A.C.T Foundation. The non-profit organization is dedicated to finding a cure for him and the millions of other type-1 diabetics, and to also help the countless type-2 patients educate themselves on how to prevent or reverse this epidemic.

“We provide supplies to as many uninsured or under-insured patients as possible until a cure is found,” says Sisca. “I want to help as many people as I can; I don’t want them to struggle with managing their Diabetes like I did.”

Diagnosed at age 13, Sisca has had his struggles with managing Type-1 Diabetes, and started the foundation to help other diabetics in need of education or any other aspect of managing their health.

All of the money raised from their sponsored events, donations, etc., goes directly towards funding the most cutting-edge research and/or helping local individuals who are in need of financial aid to pay for their diabetic supplies. Future plans of the foundation include a prescription assistance program to further aide financially struggling diabetics afford their medication.

By selling their branded awareness gear, such as t-shirts and message bands, donations, and local sponsored events, the F.A.C.T foundation is committed to finding a cure for diabetes through their fundraising, research, and determination.

The F.A.C.T Foundation Board of Directors has 6 other individuals, including Sisca’s Mother, Father-in-Law, and Brother. Sisca lives in Great Meadows, New Jersey, with his wife Jenny, their young son Bradie, and their dog Blue.
