Dr. Brown has also served as the Chairman of the Committee on Public and Professional Relations for the AAP and is the past president of the Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Societies of Periodontology. He frequently lectures at dental schools and dental societies, both nationally and internationally, and has been widely published in professional journals.

Dr. Brown is also an active educator. In addition to his full professorship in Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania's School of Dentistry, he was also recently appointed by his alma mater, Temple University's School of Dentistry to Clinical Professor of Periodontology and Dental Implantology. He is also Director of the Dental Implant Center at Albert Einstein Medical Center.
