‘The Made by Britain’ launch 6 July 2011 by The Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills and President of the Board of Trade, Vincent Cable sees the fantastic Olympic themed clothing range, designed by a recent graduate from Brighton University, on behalf of The Fashion Trust, manufactured in Hove & Portslade, Sussex, UK, was chosen as one of the many creative industries based in the MPs constituency.

The Fashion Trust is thrilled to be associated with The Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group & Associate Parliamentary Design and Innovation Group looking for the very best in British design and manufacturing.

With a comprehensive brief to especially appeal to young people making career choices, and a digital focus, what better way than to promote British Fashion design, including digitally produced print textiles, and manufacturing.

Coupled with the news that Brighton & Hove is privileged to have the Olympic Torch ‘stopover’ next year, July 2012, this brief provided is a fantastic opportunity for showcasing regional fashion 2012 to both home and international fashion markets.

Mike Weatherley MP, representing Hove & Portslade stated

Talented young graduate Julius Arthur Quinn, MDes, undertook the project and developed the range “ The Olympic Torch coming to Brighton & Hove 2012 ” for The Fashion Trust.


Julius stated
“I was delighted to be offered this project through The Fashion Trust and to be able to represent Sussex through print and design. Inspiration has been taken from local Olympic talent and represents the area as a forerunner in Olympic traditions.Working with traditional and digital print media, I have worked with photographic imagery to create print work for fashion and textiles across the board”…
